Минзаг "Амур" -- вопрос
Hoax: Пришёл вопрос от одного читателя Милитеры из Польши, интересующегося операциями русского флота по постановке минных заграждений в время ПМВ на Балтике. А конкретно его интресует минное поле, поставленное минзагом "Амур" 19 ноября 1914 года на западной части банки Штольпе. Ссылку на эту ветку ему скинул. Вопросы у него такие: Is there same other information where exactly this minefield was laid?, any coordinates where started and where finished? How long could this minefield be? As I know there was total 240 mines laid?

gem: There are many soviet secondary short issues about the minefields near the Schtolpe bank. Serious is one: Белли, Флот в Первой мировой войне т.1. Sorry, I've no that folio and link on it too. Armoured cruiser Рюрик and cruisers Олег & Богатырь were there with Амур to protect she against German cruisers. The mines were set to NW off Schtolpe in two lines (2x120). About Олег & Богатырь you'll find (on russian) some books containing all fighting episodes (just print МК_ on russian before names). http://www.kliper2.ru/archives_b/archives_4/publish_4_6.html After serious thinking :) the Baltic Fleet Stuff passed the decision that cruisers and destroyers only will set a minefields in south Baltic because the poor speed of Амур (~16 knots on holydays).
